It's like night and day compared to the flawless Lightroom. I would NOT recommend using Silkypix nor would I recommened Capture One.
Even moving around the sliders did very little to help the piggish conversion done by Capture One pro 7. It DESTROYS the beautiful film grain that also increases detail. Anyway, it makes a complete pig of the details the x100 is known for. It makes the x100 files look like the Xpro-1 files when they are converted using Lightroom (don't get me started on that topic). I can tell you I will be uninstalling Capture One as soon as I post examples of its TERRIBLE raw file conversion of the x100. So this time around I downloaded the demo (yesterday) I opened the same x100 file in both Lightroom and Capture One so I could see the way the two engines behaved.
I had very little experience with this software handling x100 files in the past because it was so expensive. Tons of new features and regarded as the industry standard for file conversion from medium format cameras.
Let's move on to one of the industry KINGS when it comes to RAW file conversion, Capture One Pro 7. It was at this point I decided Silkypix was below my new standard.
The files from Lightroom were way sharper and more detailed than those of Silkypix. I used Silky for almost a year and when I began to use Lightroom 4 I suddenly realized there was a HUGE difference in how the two handled x100 files. Lightroom 4 boasts a very impressive engine when it comes to handling x100 files.
